DOI: 10.1177/0002764202045008006 Leap of FaithA Lived Experience of DifferenceMary Lou Michael & Associates This article elucidates the effect on the researcher of researching across the difference of religious and political ideology. Drawing on journaled experience, the author identifies how three aspects of self (her feminism, her faith as a Jew, and her capacity to grow and change) were affected by evangelical Protestant female activists and their culture. She then reflects on how that experience is manifested in her life today, revisiting these three aspects of self and noting significant influences on her life and work. She concludes the article by offering advice to individuals contemplating research across difference.
